This project has been funded through the Gwynedd Piloting Fund, a Fund which has been targeted at community groups in Gwynedd to enable them to trial new activities in their communities.

Cylch Meithrin Maesywaen is responsible for managing the activities and administration of a nursery service for the area.

The nursery group along with its partners agreed that the current building, ‘Neuadd Maesywaen’, was not suitable for maintaining and developing the nursery due to the derelict location and the poor condition of the building.

Cylch Meithrin Maesywaen was keen to commission an options appraisal in order to look at two location options for a Continuing Care Center on the Ysgol Bro Tryweryn site. The two options in question were the installation of a cabin and the erection of a building for the purpose. Having determined the most feasible option, a feasibility study was required to highlight management issues and revenue costs based on likely local demand.

The group applied to the Gwynedd Pilot Fund and were successful, and the study was completed in October 2018.
