Amser i Fentro
The Amser i Fentro project is still progressing with 9 young people from Gwynedd and Anglesey continuing to work one day a week on their ventures. The scheme is supported through the Llwyddo’n Lleol project which is funded by the Arfor Innovative Fund, LEADER and Welsh Government.
Interviewing Businesses
During January some of the young people from Amser i Fentro interviewed 10 businesses across Gwynedd and Anglesey. The interviews discussed the businesses experiences and asked what advice they would give to the area’s young people on how to succeed locally. The businesses interviewed are diverse in their sectors, with some relating to agriculture, technology, design, and construction. The purpose of the series is to show young people in the area that there are all kinds of career paths and opportunities available here in North Wales.
All the interviews are available to watch on the Llwyddo’n Lleol Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Llwyddon-Lleol-2050-111221147002339
Cardiau Mwydro
This month Sioned Young, one of the Amser i Fentro participants, launched a new collection of cards. The collection contains 32 unique designs, and each card is available to personalise with any hand calligraphy.
In addition to this fantastic series, Sioned was commissioned by Clyd to draw three Welsh ladies for their Welsh Ladies collection. This collection was featured this week on S4C’s Prynhawn Da programme. https://www.facebook.com/PrynhawnDaS4C/videos/815200069030843
Zoom session with Anglesey Young Farmers
An important element of the Amser i Fentro project is that the young entrepreneurs share their experiences and inspire other young people across both counties. This month Tomos Owen (Swig), Huw Jones (Llaeth Medra) and Lois Jones (Sos Coch) were invited to speak to the young members of Anglesey Young Farmers. The talk received a great response, and we hope it inspired some of the members to consider starting their own ventures in the future!
